Our Advisors
Dr. Lynda Doty
Dr. Lynda Doty is the author of the best-selling book, HELP ME HEAL, upon which these conferences are based. She cares deeply for people who hurt and has a special touch because she has been there. She understands. Lynda is a popular speaker in churches and conferences, and counsels according to the Word of God. She was a founder and on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Soteric Counseling. A counselor for over 40 years, she earned Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in the field of counseling. An ordained minister with the UPCI, she is a former pastor’s wife and the author of sixteen books. Her husband and pastor, Rev. George L. Doty passed away in 2014.
Rev. Carlton
Carlton L. Coon Sr. is an accomplished author. He has written over 25 books falling into several categories:
*Preacher, Pastor, and Ministerial Development
*Christian Living
*Disciple-making
*Teaching and Preaching Resources
*God’s Men
He is an occasional blogger and a consistent thinker.
He and Norma pastor Calvary, a growing United Pentecostal Church in Springfield, Missouri.
For twelve years, Carlton was the General Director of North American Missions for his church organization. During those years the organization had unprecedented growth in churches planted and contributions to assist in planting churches. That growth trend continues under current leadership.
Currently, the Coons are bi-vocational pastors. Their secular employment includes an online book-selling operation and writing for other entities.
Carlton and Norma have been married for over 40 years. Norma will likely be awarded some double portion of reward for having lived with a “Type A,” driven, workaholic husband. Their sons are Chris and Lane. Lane’s wife is Shelley. The Coons have three “holy children” – a great term for grandkids who call him “Big Daddee.”
When he wants to chill a bit, he may read a murder mystery, do some planting in the garden, golf (poorly) or pursue time with the couple’s “laughing friends.”
The Coons’ extensive experience in pastoring, counseling, public speaking, and leadership development brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to the advisory board for Help Me Heal Conferences.
